barbie
sitting here thinking to myself, i ponder the fabulous life of a Barbie Doll. throughout her life, she has been a fashion model, ballerina, nurse, teacher, secretary, actress, rockstar, athlete, firefighter, police officer, and about a zillion other jobs. sometimes i wish that i could be like a barbie, and have a million jobs throughout my life. i'm in school right now to become a spanish teacher, but a part of me wants to be a makeup consultant, a photographer, a wedding planner, a sports publicist or an agent, or maybe even a restaurant owner. the possibilities of what we can make out of our life are endless, and it's semi-upsetting that we typically pick one career that we'll have the rest of our lives. its a scary thought. am i going to want to be teaching spanish the rest of my life? i guess we'll find out. but for now, i'll admire barbie and her choice of over 100 careers.

roommates
7 girls. 1 apartment. 1 fridge. 2 bathrooms.
moving into my first apartment was a VERY frightening and intimidating idea. i was never exactly the type of girl that hung out with girls. so moving into an apartment with 7 of them was a scary thought. i had to label all of my things, take shorter showers, and develop a chore chart. but thankfully, i can say that i was blessed to move in with the best roommates i could've moved in with. these girls have literally become my sisters. being 2,000 miles away from my family is extremely difficult at times, but they are the ones who get me through it. our girls nights, justin bieber singing seshes, junkfood antics, showering together, mall trips, jerry springer mornings, and pillow talks have made my experience in utah that more memorable. we may get on each others nerves a lot, and our apartment may not stay as clean as it should, but through it all i love them so much. i can't wait to grow up and go to all of their weddings, and being an auntie to their little babies<3 love you princessas.

things i've learned
i've been in utah for about 4 months now. let me tell ya, it's definitely been a learning experience. coming out here was a HUGE culture shock. i felt like i was on another planet. but after a while, you get the hang of it. here are some things i've learned since being out here.
1) no matter how many times i try, i will never be capable of pumping my own gas..typical jersey girl.
2) uggs are not a fashion statement
3) leggings worn as pants aren't either
4) frozen yogurt is pretty much the best thing on earth
5) going to walmart at 2 am is normal
6) so is going to ihop
7) utah doesn't have any good sports bars which means no good wings, which saddens me.
8) you never realize how important your family is until you move 2000 miles away from them.
9) having church at 9am=brutal.
10) dubstep is all they play in clubs
11) you mention baseball and everyone is a red sox fan.
12) i really do live in a beautiful state, yet i still can't comprehend why anyone would live in a place where there is no beach.
13) what the fetch and oh my heck are used more than they should be
14) you actually do have to study in college, who woulda known.
15) skype is the greatest thing ever invented.
16) living with 7 girls is extremely difficult at times, but these girls have grown to become my sisters.
17) mooching off your neighbor to watch yankee games on their big screen plasma is pretty nice.
18) when i say im from jersey, the most common questions are: why arent you orange? can you teach me how to fist pump? ohhh THATS why you talk funny, and the occasional, do you know the sopranos?!
19) shooting guns and four wheeling are the norm.
